When MarSenses Hotels & Homes was founded in 2020, the tourism landscape in the Balearic Islands —and across the world— was facing one of its most uncertain moments. Well, not just tourism, but life in general. Yet, as we mentioned in earlier posts, every crisis (let’s call a “crisis” anything that makes us rethink things) brings an opportunity. And we’re here to tell you about it! Though, we’ll do it in two parts — that way, everything makes much more sense. So, enjoy Part 1 and get ready to be surprised! 😊
It’s important to remember that from that challenging context (2020, a global pandemic, etc.) an idea with vision was born: to create a hotel chain with soul — committed to people, the environment, and the values that make the Mediterranean more than just a holiday destination. A WONDERFUL destination, indeed.
From our very first steps, we were clear that we wanted to offer something different. Not just rooms and services, but human, comfortable, and sustainable experiences with a positive impact on both our guests and the local community. Something that, until then, hadn’t received the attention it deserved. That perspective allowed us to grow, little by little, even in difficult times.
Over these five years, we have undergone constant evolution. What began as a young project has become a solid brand in the archipelago, with several properties in Mallorca and Menorca — a total of six four-star hotels and one holiday villa to date. Each opening has been carefully planned, respecting the surroundings and seeking to integrate design, quality, and human warmth.
One of the most significant milestones came with the opening of our latest hotel in Cala Ferrera: MarSenses Natura Olea Hotel, a space that combines contemporary comfort with Mediterranean essence. It wasn’t just about growing in number of rooms, but about strengthening a philosophy: every new step had to align with the MarSenses identity. We wanted to go further.
That consistency is also reflected in the results. In 2024, the company closed the year with a turnover of more than 30 million euros — a 27% increase compared to the previous year. But beyond the figures lies something deeper: a dedicated team, close leadership, and management committed to doing things sustainably — both economically and humanly.
From the beginning, we have embraced real sustainability — not as a trend, but as a conviction. Much of the energy used in our properties is generated through photovoltaic panels; our gardens are maintained with water-saving principles; and many of the foods served in our restaurants come from local producers — and even from our own crops. It’s a clear example of how tourism can be an economic driver while also being respectful of the environment. It’s possible — and we’re proving it.
In these first five years, the brand has positioned itself as a reference in the Balearic Islands — not only because of its hotel offerings but also for its unique way of understanding tourism. MarSenses doesn’t aim to be “just another hotel,” but a space that embodies values, community, and authenticity. A company that looks to the future without losing sight of its purpose: the well-being of people and the environment around them.
The story continues. And the best part is — there’s still so much more to write.
See you in Part 2!
